Catherin Bennett
As a Sydney-based artist, I passionately explore the dynamics of contemporary figurative, landscapes, and abstract art. My multidisciplinary approach involves using a range of mediums and surfaces.
Across the years, I have explored themes including environmental consciousness, our passion for knowledge and escaping into books. My recent visual narratives are informed by my lifelong interest in esoteric practices, primordial knowledge and interpreting my dreams and unconscious.
Beyond my studio practice, I find fulfilment in sharing my artistic knowledge through teaching. I have been actively involved in solo and group shows, art fairs, and public markets.

I aspire to build CX2Art into a gallery for emerging artists to showcase their work.

ARTIST STATEMENT
​
My latest body of work is the result of an artistic journey that delves deep into my unconscious mind. Each artwork in this collection expresses a profound engagement with the hidden layers of my psyche. Rooted in surrealist traditions, I draw on irrational, symbolic, and mythical elements. It evokes a sense of unease and wonder, inviting viewers to explore the depths of their own imaginations. Visual narratives are informed by my interest in esoteric practices, primordial knowledge, and the interpretation of dreams. I intentionally blur the line between the seen and unseen, embracing the unpredictability of Rorschach-inspired techniques. This approach reveals motifs that are both mythical and mysterious.​
